Working Groups - Help

Welcome to our working group. This is the place to discuss and share documents relating to topics such as: environment-related pressures, risks to health and well-being. All members of this website needs to request to join a working groups before you can partake in any discussion or download documents related to the group.

For Group Members:

Group member are member of a working group that is allowed to partake in a discussion with other member of the same group and share documents privately (and publicly).

1. How do i join a group as a member?

Navigate to the working group landing page. Click on a working group you are interested in and would like to join. On the working group page you will see a blue button called Request to join this group, click on this to request to join. An administrator of the group who is normally Working Group Chair will receive your request and accept you into the group. 

2. How to contact the admin of a working group?

If you have questions relating to the group, you can contact the group admin. On each working group page, there is a contact card. On this card, there is a 'Send message' link. Click on this link to send a private message to group admin. To see your messages, click on the 'messages' menu item link in your user menu (located on the top left of this site). 

You repeat the above for each group you wish to join.

3. What can a member do within a working group?

Once you have been accepted into a working group, you can partake in a discussion and share documents with other members of the same group.

4. How do i view other members in the same group?

On the working group main page, click on the 'member' tab and you will see a list of members within the group. Click on the 'view' tab to go back to the working group main page.

5. How do i post a discussion topic?

Click on the 'Add working group discussion' item link to post a new discussion topic.

6. How do i post a document or file to share with other members?

There are 2 types of documents that can be shared.

Public document - these are documents / files that you want to share with everyone on the site regardless whether they are non-registered or members of ISES website.

Private document - these are documents / files that you only want to share with members. They are kept private and not accessible by others but only members of the group it belongs to.

  • To add a document to share publicly, click on 'Add working group document (public)' item link
  • To add a document to share privately, click on 'Add working group document (private)' item link

7. How do i leave the group i have joined?

To leave the group, on the working group main page, click on leave button.

 

For Working Group Chair & Co-Chair (group administrator)

Group administrator is a person that manages a working group (sometimes many groups) and its group members. They are your first point of contact within a working group for any request or help. You will find their contact details on each of the working group main page.

1. How do i become a working group chair to manage a working group?

You need to contact site admin or manager who can then assign you to a group as a working group chair. You can managed one group or many groups.

2. How do I view members in my working group?

You can view all members in your working group by clicking on the 'Member' tab. Note: Roles that show up blank next to a member are in fact 'member' role. 

3. How do i add a member to the working group?

Click on 'Add member' tab. Then search for the member you want and click on 'Add member' button. You can skip the roles when adding a new member. This will add the member as a regular member.

4. How do i invite members to join?

Click on the 'invite member' tab. Then search for the member you want and click on 'Send invitation' button. This will send a message to the member notifying him/her that they have been invited to join the group. 

5. How do I remove a member from the group?

Click on the 'member' tabs. Then click on cancel link in the same row as the member you want to remove. 

6. How do I start a discussion?

Click on the 'Add Working Group Discussion' item link to post a new discussion topic.

7. How do i upload documents / files?

Click on the 'Add Working Group Documents (Public)' or 'Add Working Group Documents (Private)' item link to upload document or file. Public uploads are any document you want to share with everyone. Private uploads are documents that are only viewable by members of your working group.

8. How do I leave my working group?

To leave the group, on the working group main page, click on leave button. Please consult with the person that set you up to manage your group before you leave the working group. 

 

Access Denied

Why do i get an access denied error page when i tried to view the private documents? 

That is because you have not joined the working group so you are prevented from seeing the document files and information.
