Short biography: 

Alison is a postdoctoral researcher at NUI Galway. Research area of interest and expertise are human exposures to pollutants, human biomonitoring, exposure assessments and occupational hygiene. Alison conducted her PhD research project at NUI Galway and was titled ‘Characterising occupational exposure to glyphosate among amenity horticulturists’ (2018). Alison is a member of a number of professional societies; the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS), a committee member of the Occupational Hygiene Society of Ireland (OHSI) and a member of the International Society of Exposure Science (ISES) and the student representative and webmaster of the European Chapter of the International Society of Exposure Science (ISES Europe).

I have graduated from a Bachelor of Science (Health and Safety Systems) Degree, from the National University of Ireland, Galway. I completed a practical experience programme in Health and Safety through our Professional Experience Programme, a 5 month placement as part of the degree.
