Job Description
We are seeking a junior researcher interested in the development of new methods for multiresidual analysis, suspect and non-targeted screening using the last generation of LC-HRMS and GC-HRMS instrumentations (LC Fusion Orbitrap and GC-Q-Exactive Orbitrap) needed for characterization of human exposome and its role in the development of chronic conditions. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to build expertise in this high-profile field and contribute to excellence in science.
The research group led by Prof. Jana Klánová develops the interdisciplinary approaches to environmental exposures and related risks. There is a great opportunity for collaboration with the research groups in environmental chemistry and modeling, toxicology, and risk assessment, but also molecular biology, microbiology or medicine. The research fields are developed in synergy with the large European initiatives such as H2020 Human Biomonitoring for Europe or H2020 projects on endocrine disrupting chemicals.
Requirements and qualification
The candidate must hold a Ph.D. degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, bioinformatics or related fields obtained within the past 7 years. The candidate must have a research experience; a track record of publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals (WoS, SCOPUS). International experience is an advantage.
The candidate has to prove the interest and motivation to tackle scientific challenges, independent planning of experiments to explore given hypotheses and technical skills to conduct experimental work. The candidate should have practical experience and understand the theory of mass spectrometry-based techniques and modern gas/liquid chromatography concepts. The basic programming skills and experience with statistical data processing and bioinformatics is an advantage. The ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, solve technical issues, improve existing, and develop new approaches as well as science writing is required. Additional requirements are: good written and oral communication skills, excellent documentation skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
